Decorate your windows with Meudon Whiting

Water, Meudon Whiting and a paintbrush. Spray-on artificial snow has no advantage over this two-ingredient recipe.

Cans of artificial snow contain solvents and propellant gases, and they are a pain to remove. Meudon Whiting gives the same effect, wipes off with a damp sponge and costs next to nothing.

What you need

  • 1 part Meudon Whiting
  • Half a part water
  • Paintbrushes
  • A sponge

The method

1

Mix 1 part Meudon Whiting with 1/2 part water, until you have a paste that coats the brush without dripping.

2

Paint straight onto the clean, dry glass.

3

Leave to dry: the layer turns whiter as it dries.

4

To remove it, a damp sponge is all you need, no product required.

Going further

With stencils, you get crisp edges: hold the stencil flat against the glass and dab with a sponge rather than brushing.

The recipe also works on mirrors.

One more thing

Paint on the inside, not the outside: the first rain would wash it all away.
